Amazon A+ Content Wins Customers
Amazon A+ content is the be-all and end-all of all aspiring sellers. As the name indicates, it allows you to present your brand and products in a more premium and professional manner, making it an “A+” experience for your potential customers.
Since you have seen A+ content on the product detail pages, we’ve created this guide to help explain the best application in using this feature. We will be answering the following questions;
- What is Amazon A+ content?
- What are the requirements and price?
- What does it mean to use A+ content?
- How to create A+ content that converts?
What is Amazon A+ Content
Simply put, Amazon A+ content is the ability to place branded content on a product detail page. You have freedom of creativity and expression, through having additional customization and control over:
- Page formatting (various modules can be moved around though no custom HTML)
- Text Editor (advanced format for your style needs)
- Images (enhanced dimensions and customization)
- Video (tell your story in a unique audiovisual way)
Requirements of Amazon A+ Content
The requirements are relatively straightforward.
- The very first requirement is that you will need to be a professional seller. Right off the bat, you understand it’s a pay-to-win game.
- The next requirement is getting approved as a brand owner through the Amazon Brand Registry process.
- An alternate option is to be qualified under specific managed selling programs like Launchpad and Amazon Exclusives.
How Much Does Amazon A+ Content Cost?
Technically, A+ Content has no direct cost. It’s a free feature for Brand Registered sellers with a professional seller account. The cost of the professional seller account is $39.99 per month. There are no additional fees.
What is EBC (Enhanced Brand Content)?
Amazon EBC was a program for 1P or Vendor Central sellers that existed in the past but is no longer available. The Amazon A+ content has taken over for both Vendor Central (1P) and Seller Central (3P) sellers. Amazon decided to roll out some significant changes, which made the entire process seamless.
Today EBC is a term that is synonymous with A+ content.
Amazon A+ Content Indexation? What’s the Fuss?
According to Amazon, the A+ content will hide plain-text product descriptions but do not specifically get into indexation matters.
A recent experiment by Sellics hinted that A+ content is not indexed on Amazon, and keywords embedded to text and options did not show up on search results either.
All A+ content is still crawled and indexed by Google.
How Do You Create A+ Content? A Step-by-Step Guide
Not sure how to create A+ content? Amazon doesn’t exactly have a step-by-step guide, do they?
Step 0: Have a Seller Central or Vendor Account, which is Brand Registered or qualified under Launchpad or Amazon Exclusives.
Step 1: Log in to your Seller Central Account.
Step 2: On the navigation menu, highlight Advertising and click A+ Content Manager under the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Click Start Creating A+ Content, which will prompt you a choice between building your own and getting Amazon to make it for you. We recommend the former to start.
Step 4: Proceed and click Self-service modules where you’ll fill in the details such as ASIN and Project name. You’ll also have to choose a building layout.
Step 5: Spend some time to learn about all the customizations and build layouts. You’ll need to get familiar with all the options since each section will affect the overall conversion rate.

Benefits of A+ Content
The benefits are crystal clear: you will end up selling more products while building a premium brand image.
Truly Make Your Brand and Products Shine
A+ content makes up for an A+ experience in so many ways.
The fact that your product pages look different from the default layout means your brand and products are different. For shoppers looking for something extraordinary, this is a huge win.
An Engaging Audiovisual Story
Ever consider that your product pages are not just pages with random images and text plastered all over them?
If you’re one of the elite who keep the customer experience in mind, you already know that storytelling is part of the buyer process and a critical component at that.
A+ content gives you the necessary freedom to tell your story. Throw in premium visuals and videos for a more audiovisual experience, and you have yourself a winning landing page.
Answer Customer Questions and Ease Their Minds
Sometimes you don’t even need an FAQ or Q&A section. If you can answer their questions, ease their minds, and make the shopping experience a delight, then you’ll surely see a higher conversion rate.
A+ content enables this with all the customizations. You can play around with how you want to introduce your brand and product, even down to the smaller details where you can answer some basic questions more creatively.
A+ Content = Increased Sales
All the flashy visuals and branding aside, this is what we’re here for. More sales. Amazon states you can increase sales by 10% only by educating your customers about your product and brand. A+ content does this best.
But why do A+ content? It’s due to all the points made above.
The first is the fact that your product pages will feel premium and tell a more compelling story. Your brand and products should match this experience. You can’t make a potato look like a Ferrari.
The second is you provide a better landing page experience for the customer. Each section of your landing page sells the next, and all the creatives will only entice the visitor to keep on scrolling.
But let’s remember – you are the storyteller—time to brush up on your storytelling skills.
