Amazon Beauty Best Seller List
Searching for a must-find beauty product today means less time rifling through a retail shop and more time scanning e-commerce sites.
Enter Amazon’s Best Sellers in Beauty & Personal Care lists.
Approximately 350,000 luxury beauty products were sold on Prime Day 2019, according to Amazon. For third-party retailers, there’s really no option but to sell beauty products on Amazon to increase sales.
Online is driving growth in beauty.
The e-commerce juggernaut has risen to be one of the top beauty retailers, corning 36% of the U.S. cosmetics market, according to Bloomberg.
In the competitive beauty category, smaller brands will benefit from building a customer base on other social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat and Twitter before a brand presence on Amazon. Lesser-known brands can generate thousands of positive reviews to create brand loyalty.
Convenience, Convenience, Convenience
If the real estate market is fueled by the mantra location, location, location, the beauty market is ruled by convenience, convenience, convenience.
Many prefer to take the pressure off looking for the perfect beauty product in brick-and-mortar stores and instead scan the list of beauty products available on a social marketplace. To consumers, blogs and recommendations are ways to build success and blaze a lucrative path through the endless list of lotions, gels and treatments, and to educate the uninitiated and steer buyers.
An estimated 80% of U.S. households have one Prime membership in their homes. E-commerce is serving all customers, from Baby Boomers, to Generation X, to Millennials and the growing (and cost-conscious) Gen Z.
What People Are Buying
Makeup-removing and exfoliating products take top billing among Amazon searches, with facial wipes and towelettes preferred choices rather than rinse creams. (Remember, convenience?)
One need only to look at ubiquitous swivel mirrors that allow for viewing at any angle to apply and remove makeup and notice unseemly facial blemishes. Deep-cleansing facial clays and eyebrow razor products also rank as top-selling beauty products.
Men’s grooming also takes its place on Amazon’s Best Sellers in Hair Care Products. Among top sellers: shaving gels, foam for hair loss and hair regrowth topical treatment, anti-dandruff and men’s shampoo and conditioner.
More than 50% of all Amazon sales come from third-party sellers and the figure is not slowing down.
Those figures present a showcase for best-selling beauty products.
