Fake Reviews: Amazon filed a lawsuit against 10,000 Facebook group admins

  • Amazon filed a lawsuit Monday against the administrators of more than 10,000 Facebook groups that coordinate cash or goods for buyers willing to post bogus product reviews. The global groups served to recruit would-be fake reviewers and operated in Amazon’s online storefronts in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Japan, and Italy.

The new contextual targeting solution includes placements to reach audiences both on and off Amazon when customers view content related to targeting strategies. Amazon launched new features to help you monitor your account health

  • In the coming months, you will start to see new features on your Account Health page. The first of these is that your Account Health Rating (AHR) will be displayed as a point value based on a scale of 0-1,000 (in addition to the color that exists today ), enabling you to see how close you are to the various thresholds that move your AHR from green (Healthy) to yellow (At Risk) to red (Unhealthy, where your account is at risk of deactivation).

This year was the biggest Prime Day event for Amazon’s selling partners, most of whom are small and medium-sized businesses, whose sales growth in Amazon’s store outpaced Amazon’s retail business.

Call Outs:

  • Customers spent over $3 billion on more than 100 million small business items included in the Support Small Businesses to Win Big sweepstakes.
  • Prime members worldwide purchased more than 100,000 items per minute during this year’s Prime Day event.
  • Prime members worldwide did the most shopping from 9 a.m.—10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, July 12 during the entire Prime Day event.
  • Customers purchased more than 100 million small business items in the three weeks leading up to Prime Day.
  • Prime members in the U.S. did the most shopping from 8 p.m.—9 p.m. PT on Wednesday, July 13 during the U.S. Prime Day event.
