Update to US Referral and FBA Fees Starting January 17, 2023

  • Important Call Outs effective Jan 17
  • Referral fees will remain unchanged
  • Fuel & Inflation Surcharge being removed all together, and temporary charge that is being baked into FBA fees
  • Additional granularity in our FBA fees which will drive improved inventory health, more efficient use of Amazon’s storage, and create more capacity for sellers who are using space efficiently (Healthy Sell-through)
    • Increase FBA outbound fee rates
    • For Apparel products, the granularity of unit weight or dimensional weight to determine the shipping weight for all large standard-size products
    • Reducing returns processing fee rates for customer-returned products in the Apparel and Shoes categories
    • Increase the monthly off-peak storage fee (January to September) for standard-size products and oversized products
    • Introducing a storage utilization surcharge for sellers who have slow-moving inventory based on weekly sales
    • Increase the surcharges applied to inventory stored between 180-270 days and 271-365 days
    • Increase removal and disposal fees

New Amazon Account Health Assurance

  • Amazon Worldwide Selling Partner Services has announced a new, free benefit for sellers called Account Health Assurance, which formalises their commitment to not deactivate a seller’s account as long as they work with us to resolve any issues. Account Health Assurance was built based on seller feedback and is part of Amazon’s continuing efforts to provide sellers with more transparency and tools to support their account health.

  • According to the Department of Commerce, eCommerce sales over the past twelve months reached $1.02 trillion. The market has nearly doubled in size in three years. Currently, spending is 25% larger than pre-pandemic forecasts. eCommerce is up 10.8% in the third quarter, back to double digits for the first time since the second quarter of 2021.
